Pricing transparency is rare in the alternative housing industry. Most providers ask you to call for a quote and then give you a price that depends heavily on how eager you seem. At Cedar Domes, we publish our prices and stand by them.

These base prices include the full geodesic frame, cladding, insulation, floor system, basic interior fit-out, and consent documentation support. They do not include site works, foundation, or optional upgrades.
Additional Costs to Budget For
Foundation: $4,500 to $15,000 depending on site conditions. Flat, stable ground sits at the lower end; steep or soft ground at the higher end. We always do a site assessment before quoting.
Site works: Clearing, levelling, and access track formation. Budget $3,000 to $18,000 depending on site complexity.
Building consent fees: Council fees vary. Budget $2,500 to $6,000 for a standard residential dome consent.
Utilities connection: Power connection costs $3,000 to $8,000 from the nearest pole, or $8,000 to $20,000 for off-grid solar. Water connection or tank installation runs $2,000 to $6,000. Septic systems cost $6,000 to $14,000 if there is no mains sewerage.
