Our domes start from $8,549 for the 20 FT Settler and go up to $16,850 for the 40 FT Summit. These base prices include the dome structure, cladding, insulation, floor system, and basic fit-out. Site preparation, foundations, utilities, and optional upgrades are quoted separately. We publish all base prices on our website because we believe in full transparency with no hidden fees.
Permit requirements vary by state and county. Many jurisdictions classify structures under a certain square footage as accessory structures, which may not require a full building permit. Cedar Domes prepares all permit documentation in-house, provides stamped engineering drawings, and liaises with your local building department on your behalf. We have successfully permitted domes across multiple states and will advise you on the specific requirements for your location during the consultation.
From deposit paid to dome delivered, our typical timelines are: 20 FT Settler: 8 to 10 weeks. 26 FT Wanderer: 10 to 12 weeks. 33 FT Horizon: 12 to 14 weeks. 40 FT Summit: 14 to 18 weeks. These timelines include fabrication, freight, and on-site installation. Local permit processing times may add additional weeks and vary by jurisdiction.
Yes. All Cedar Domes include solar-ready electrical wiring and rainwater-compatible plumbing as standard from the Wanderer size upward. Our off-grid solar and battery packages are available as add-ons, sized specifically for each dome. A number of our Horizon and Summit owners live entirely off-grid on rural properties across the country.
We offer four sizes: 20 FT for 4 to 6 people (The Settler, from $8,549), 26 FT for 6 to 8 people (The Wanderer, from $11,040), 33 FT for 8 to 12 people (The Horizon, from $13,950), and 40 FT for 12 or more people (The Summit, from $16,850). Sleeping capacity depends on your layout configuration. We will advise the best layout for your intended use.
Earning potential varies by location, presentation, and marketing. Based on data from glamping operators across the US, well-positioned domes in popular rural and nature destinations earn $350 to $600 per night. At 60 percent annual occupancy, that is $76,000 to $131,000 per year in gross revenue. After platform fees and operating costs, most operators net $50,000 to $90,000 per dome per year. Many are now operating multiple domes as a full business.
Yes. Our domes are engineered for real American conditions: from Colorado mountain winters to Texas summer heat, from Pacific Northwest rain to southeastern humidity. The geodesic structure is inherently more resistant to wind and seismic loads than rectangular buildings. Our domes are insulated to R-4 through R-7 depending on size, wind-rated for high-wind zones, and snow-load certified for applicable regions. We assess your specific climate during the site consultation.

We have completed projects in states including Texas, Colorado, California, Montana, Vermont, Oregon, Arizona, Tennessee, and more. Remote or difficult-access locations are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Delivery and installation costs vary by distance and site conditions and are included in your detailed quote.

All Cedar Domes come with a 10-year structural warranty covering the geodesic frame and cladding system. Interior fit-out components carry the manufacturer warranty, typically 2 to 5 years. We also provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on all installation work. Full warranty documentation is provided at handover.
